Yao Wei is an international acting coach, actor, director, cinematographer, dancer and choreographer. He has been working as a professional artist for over 20 years in China and the United States.

   As an acting coach, he partnered with Ally Sheedy to teach acting for camera at New York City University (2019).

   As an actor, he played leading roles  for off Broadway Theater “Where Am I”; the Disney musical, “Golden Micky”; the musical, “Long March” composed by San Bao; and the musical “Mom Love Me Again,” produced By LI Dun. He also played the role of Doctor Ruger in the film, “The Cranberry Tale.”

   As a director, he wrote and directed the short film, “I am Yours,” which won an award at the City Vision Film Festival of New York. This film was also officially selected by Big Apple New York Film Festival (2020).

   As a cinematographer, his recent work was invited by Baryshnikov Art Center New York filmed Yin Mei’s Dance Film “Revolution 5.17-27” composed by Huang Ruo (2021).  

   As a dancer and choreographer, he was a principal dancer in the Guang Dong Opera and Dance Theater in China and NaiNiChen Dance company in New York. His solo dance “Qiang Ren” received an award at the fifth China national dance competition and Guang Dong Dance competition. He was also invited as one of the choreographers for the Olympics in London in 2012 .

   Yao Wei is a very open minded person. He loves all kinds of art, and believes the experiences makes  art very unique. 

 

　ヤオウェイは、国内外で演技指導を行うアーティストで、自身も俳優、ディレクター、映像制作、ダンサー、振付師として幅広く活躍。これまで中国とアメリカを中心に２５年以上活動。２０１９年には、ニューヨークシティ大学にて、ハリウッド女優アリー・シーディと共に演技指導を行い、カメラマンを担当。
